Health Emergencies
Emergency Room
If you’re sick and you need to go to an emergency room call 118 to be reached by an ambulance. Or go to a hospital emergency department. A nurse will welcome you to take your data and listen to what you need.
In the emergency room the problems are coded (triage) according to the emergency conditions, severity level and priority. Each patient is given a code, corresponding to his condition:
• red code: very critical, life-threatening, top priority, immediate access to treatment;
• yellow code: moderately critical, presence of evolutionary risk, possible danger of life;
• green code: not critical, absence of evolutionary risks, deferrable performances;
• white code: non-critical, non-urgent patients.

Emergency medical Service
The service is activated with the aim of guaranteeing medical assistance in the evening and night hours of public holidays and pre-holidays. The operating hours of the service are as follows:
- from 8:00 pm on weekdays to 8:00 am on the following working day;
- from 10:00 on Saturday (or other day before) to 8:00 on the following Monday (the day after the holiday).
- On public holidays, the medical service is active 24 hours a day.
